After his poor performance in 2009 nearly one billion euros loss, its first negative result since 2001 – the station returns to profit in 2010. Guillaume Pepy, President of the Railway Group, invited the Grand Rendez-Vous Europe1 – The Australian – Today in France, announced a recovery group accounts. "Feeling better, the SNCF has not made a loss in the first half of 2010, it is in the green," he said. But he tempered and clarified that the results should be published Tuesday, will benefit "so so small that we are not now satisfied."

Guillaume Pepy, however, indicated that there were "real signs of recovery: the transport of goods have left" and, for "transportation of daily life, it off again."In addition, the summer holidays were "well placed", he said, adding that the company had shipped more than 400,000 people last year during the summer. The director general of SNCF Voyages Barbara Dalibard said in the Sunday newspaper that the station had "carried 17 million passengers, 1.5% more than in summer 2009 which had already marked a good resistance to the crisis."

A strike of more than 24 hours

Regarding the strike notice be renewed from September 7 launched by three unions of the SNCF (FOR, CFTC and CFE-CGC) not nationally representative – Chairman Railway Group was optimistic. "The four unions that are representative (CGT, UNSA and SUD-Rail ed CFDT) said that traffic would resume on September 8, (thus) the traffic will resume on 8.He however declined to forecast the magnitude of disturbance, recalling that the strike rate was 40% during the mobilization of June 24 (46% according to the CGT).

Wanting reassurance he said that the minimum service is a success in the station: there were "more trains, and there is more info. 200,000 brochures will be distributed and September 7. The cost of a strike settled "between 10 and 20 million euros," he said. He found it "interesting" the idea of feeding a fund with the money that could be saved if there were fewer strikes. "It would seem normal, if there is less of a strike at the SNCF, less disruption of public service, that somewhere the railwaymen themselves have a return," he said.

Guillaume Pepy has finally refuted the rumor of his entry into government at the next reshuffle: "It's anything (…) It's 100% hoax.

The mechanics are well oiled. Since early August, the rumor swells. The Cupertino company could make in the coming weeks, a mini iPad. According to iLounge website, which has dropped its "flight" from August 4, the new equipment would have the same functions as an iPad, but its touch screen is smaller. This will provide an Internet tablet lighter and less bulky, the size of a paperback book. Instead of nearly 25 cm (9.7 inches) diagonally, mini iPad would screen a little less than 18 cm (7 inches).

Recently, the rumor was almost confirmed by Asian manufacturers produce components. According to the site DigiTimes, which is the mini iPad loan could be sold in early 2011. For its part, Apple is hiding behind a "we do not comment on rumors or speculation."This response is involved in marketing the firm headed by Steve Jobs who control the millimeter communication. Rather than confirm or deny rumors that often are based, as was the case for the iPhone 4, iPad, the first iPhone, iPod touch and the superdrive, the Cupertino increases curiosity and speculation. This mechanism allows the firm to apple to get much publicity at little cost. The iPhone 4, "lost in a bar" by an engineer from Apple and bought by the site Gizmodo, has made headlines on both sides of the Atlantic. Interest is especially great that Apple has become the first market capitalization of technology companies in the United States.

Cheaper

In addition, his famous iPad has created a new family of products both for entertainment – with video, music and games – and a working tool, still connected to the Internet."We've created a new category of equipment that the" Web Book "which brings new products connected to the Internet that do not, as standard, making voice communications. These products are larger than just music players and have an operating system for mobile. The iPad is the only representative of this category with the Archos 7 Home Tablet, "says Matthew Cortesse, telecoms analyst at GfK. Apple could push its advantage to dominate the segment it created. His future competitors, the major brands of computers and the Internet have not yet entered this market and plan to do so by the end of the year shelf the size of the alleged mini iPad.

About the speculation, "I think that equipment 7 inches diagonally, at a price lower than the iPad is an opportunity for Apple," said Carolina Milanesi, analyst at research firm Gartner. But "there is a risk of cannibalization of the iPod touch, unless Apple plans to make its iPod Touch product entry for the players. A 7-inch equipment would then bridge between an iPod touch and the iPad. Finally, the mini iPad, less costly, would allow "Apple to entice an audience that does not afford the original." According to versions, the iPad has sold between 499 and 999, the price of a laptop.

LE FIGARO. – RTL ended the season with 12.1% audience. The media is 80.9%. Is not it a little low?

Christopher Baldelli. – The radio has a very good season from September to June with a small decline in April-June RTL is an excellent survey. It confirms two points, observed since January: our audience is progressing and RTL accentuates the gap with the second. This had not happened for two years. Our radio division overall is doing very well. Fun Radio even recorded the strongest growth of all radios throughout the season.

RTL is not followed by NRJ, a musical, but by the France Inter generalist. How do you change the competition?

I come from television. I found the radio, fierce competition. It is multiple, strong, and has talent. The performance of RTL is to have strengthened its leadership this season.Having a generalist such as France Inter behind us is exciting. But I do not choose the number 2. What matters is the performance of RTL, its audience and the gap to the next.

France Inter is leading in some quarters of an hour of the morning, between 12:00 and 2:00 p.m., and 18 h 45-20 h 15. What is your parade?

RTL is the undisputed leader on the morning throughout the season. However, we will intensify our efforts to return in the morning, with Yves Calvi, and lunch with Laurent Bazin and Elizabeth Martichoux.

You just changed the schedule for the 2009-2010 season. The next will Does your brand?

The schedule of RTL is both mine – I made some changes in September with Bixente Lizarazu and Eric Zemmour in January – as it is Axel Duroux, my predecessor, and that of his predecessor, Robin Leproux. If we have been active in the transfer market this year is because our grid is strong and there were points to be strengthened. This is not about egos but effective. There are a lot of our competition and offer must be constantly improved. Thus, the arrival Flavie Flament help to feminize our audience. We want to make a popular radio quality and also of interest to AB +. All our hires are part of this logic.

What will the impact of these arrivals gate at your cost?

I announced that we would be active in the transfer market. The cost of the grid RTL enrich well will be nearly identical to last season. We have begun a savings plan for 20 million euros over three years but we do not rule out investing in the grid at constant cost. Thanks to good audiences and advertising revenue growth, particularly in the second quarter, our profit margin will increase from 2010. This will be a double-digit growth. We aim to improve profitability on all radios without sacrificing programs. We are not in a purely managerial logic but first performance.

What are your goals for long-term stations?

Fun Radio has already made a nice progression of Hearing. We must now expand the total supply, with major events such as Starfloor at Bercy. This allows work on the brand and diversify our sources of income.I have no other target audience for RTL to be the best. We will launch in September a new website rtl.fr, which will more room to podcast and video. The mark must be alive and present in almost-French. We can not measure the impact on the audience, but it contributes.

A new face to face. And this, for the third time since 2001. Airbus and Boeing had 14 hours until today to submit their proposals to the Pentagon to get the first installment of the fabulous contract renewal of the fleet of tankers U.S.. Or 179 tankers for about 40 billion dollars out of a total of over 400 aircraft in exchange for a check of more than 100 billion dollars.

The two rivals have delivered boxes and boxes of documents 8800 pages for EADS Air Force Base Wright-Patterson U.S. Air Force in Ohio. The Pentagon said it would issue its final decision on Nov. 12, after the midterm elections in Congress. Contrary to some rumors, there was no third deposit offer from the Ukrainian Antonov.

The ultimate battle for the tanker has begun.Airbus (2008) and Boeing (2003) have each won once this contract before it is canceled. In March, EADS had been forced to throw in the towel after the abandonment because of "biased competition" in favor of Boeing Northrop, its American ally at the time.

Convinced that his offer and his plane are the best and deal with the Pentagon's commitment to open competition "fair and transparent," Louis Welsh, president of EADS, has decided to descend into the arena. EADS proposes the KC-45, a military derivative of the long-haul A330. This unit has successfully completed numerous flight tests and has won every competition in the world including in Britain and Australia with two KC-45 must be delivered by the end of the year.Facing him, a derivative competes with Boeing's Military B 767, a paper airplane that does not exist yet.

48,000 jobs

EADS has provided a list of its 200 U.S. allies including some key partners for the militarization of the aircraft. Among them, the first is Rockwell Collins, a specialist in avionics and electronics, as announced by the letter AeroDefenseNews. This group of 4.5 billion dollars in sales, is a longtime supplier to Boeing and its … B767! Rockwell Collins provides the avionics include weather radar and the B 767-200. But it is also an expert in military electronics, which are sensitive equipment aboard the C-130 transport aircraft from Lockheed and the KC-135 Boeing.GE Aviation, Honetwell, Hamilton Sundstrand, Goodrich or agreed to engage behind EADS which the Pentagon has recognized as prime contractor (prime contractor). If its bid is successful, EADS to build an assembly plant in Mobile, Alabama. He believes that his project will create 48,000 direct and indirect jobs with the outsourcing to the United States.

EADS Has a chance to win and achieve the American breakthrough he has been waiting long? Many questioned both the military contracts are in final political decision. The price will determine the Pentagon said, putting pressure on the two groups. EADS has already said he would not take a contract loss

The U.S. economy has begun to destroy jobs, after five months of net creation. In June, the number of job losses in the U.S. totaled 125,000 jobs including in the public, according to figures from the Labor Department. The figure was pulled down by the public sector, the end of the census causing the departure of 225,000 temporary workers hired for the occasion.

More importantly, the private sector alone has created 83,000 jobs. Is much better than the 33,000 net new jobs in the month of May However, analysts expected a figure close to 112,000. "We're going in the right direction but we do not go fast enough for many Americans. We are not moving fast enough for me either, "responded the president Barack Obama.

The increase in the number of private sector jobs due to "modest increases in various industries."The leisure industry in particular has created 28,000 jobs before the summer. Business services hired 21,000 people. Note, the industry continued to create jobs (9,000). The construction sector has meanwhile also destroys jobs (22,000), hit by a decline in new construction.

"Beyond these figures rather in line with expectations, the disappointment is the hours worked and wages," noted economists Exane-BNP Paribas. "Hours worked weekly find their level in April (34.1) and hourly wages shrink by 0.1% over the month." In bad omen for consumer spending.

On the other hand, the unemployment rate, calculated on a different basis, for its part fell 9.7% in May to 9.5% in JuneThe Labor Department said the decline by reducing the workforce and the growing number of discouraged workers who no longer work. "We still expect a gradual recovery in the labor market with unemployment rates remain high in 2010 before improving slightly in 2011," says Julian Thomas, an economist at Natixis.

"In general, the Labor Department report suggests weak growth, but not fallen into recession, say economists for their part of Societe Generale.

Priority of Berlin and Paris, the tax credit has received a cold reception in Toronto at the G20. Despite support from Washington and London, the communiqué does not mention the tax lip as a legitimate option for banks to charge up the pieces of the crisis. But the G20 is careful to praise, to the chagrin of the French and Germans who are promoting at European level.

'There is no international agreement on the tax, "says the Canadian government, hostile to this project from the start. Canadians, Australians and emerging countries are opposed to this levy, because their banks have managed to ride out the storm without state aid. "The financial sector should contribute to the budgetary effort of governments intervened to fix the financial system or money abound resolution," admits the G20."Some countries are considering a tax credit, others are promoting other approaches," said the statement, which takes note of the divisions at the highest level.

Budget 2011 in France

Some guiding principles of tax are set out in the annexes of the findings, but the virtues "antirisques" of the tax are not highlighted. Most delegations, particularly Americans, found it more effective to expand the capital of the most exposed to risks to avert a future crisis. One option feared by European banks, less well capitalized than their competitors in North America.

Angela Merkel, who was the first in Europe to defend the tax credit on a European scale, is not surprised by the meager results of the G20. "We were not going to convince the world to Toronto to impose a tax on banks, this was not the goal!" Will be defended German side."The G20 recognized the legitimacy of the tax, it is well", says it does on the French side. "Whatever the decision of our partners, we will implement this tax!" Warned Sarkozy Nicolas who entered the menu of the budget 2011.

France is Germany and Great Britain seem determined to pay their banks but, despite the political display, the proportions remain reasonable so as not too lose competitiveness relative to Asian markets. Thanks to its tax, France has recovered 1 billion; Great Britain, 3 billion pounds, the U.S. counting on $ 19 billion.A lesser evil for Western banks, which always escape to the great reform of global financial regulation announced by the governments since the first G20 in Washington.

For its centennial, the fund invests Strategic Investment (ISP), launched there just eighteen months, has chosen to support CGG Veritas. This intervention takes place through the acquisition of the group's shares listed in Paris and New York, up from just over 170 million euros, or 6% of capital. The fund, which became the largest shareholder of the company, ask an administrator to the council table. "This is a significant commitment of ISPs, says Gilles Michel, Director General of public funds. One of our three missions is to strengthen the capital of companies listed on major technological potential. Upon entering the capital of CGG Veritas, we conduct our sixth investment of this type. "

This, incidentally, the third stake in an oil company, after Vallourec and Technip. With a market capitalization of 2.7 billion euros, CGG Veritas is smaller than the other two groups supported by the funds, but the company employed 7,500 strong positions in its areas of specialty. It is a world leader in providing services in imaging for identifying hydrocarbon reserves, both onshore and offshore, it is also the world leader in seismic equipment.

"We are proud to be regarded as a business with great potential by the ISP, and it does not mark a turning point for the company, but it will allow us to further develop the technology to improve the image of the basement" , commented the President of CGG Veritas, Robert Brunck.

Long-term shareholder

The entry of ISPs also aims to secure a capital highly fragmented.IFP (French Petroleum Institute), long the largest shareholder, holds only 4.2%. And the company has 700 funds in its capital.

With the strategic fund, about 10% of the capital are now in the hands of public shareholders and long term. "The presence of ISPs in the capital makes CGG Veritas attractive for other long term investors," said Gilles Michel. For him, securing the capital enables these dynamic companies to focus on growth rather than spending time managing financial issues.

Problem even more crucial that CGG Veritas is an average actor in a sector parapetrolic won by a movement of concentration. Schlumberger has made two acquisitions in quick succession. The industry giant has launched at the end of winter a bid of 11 billion dollars on Smith International, before you spend a few weeks later, one billion euros to afford the French Geoservices. Many observers consider that competitors, including Halliburton, would replicate …

Consolidation of DTT channels requires the Bollor? group Lagardere and entered into exclusive negotiations for the acquisition of Virgin 17, the music channel of Lagard?re.

The sale comes as seems acquired the amendment to the agreement of the chain that ultimately could be more musical but mini GP. However, it is not sufficient to date to pull the string to a value comparable to that of NT1, one of its competitors whose value was set at its sale to TF1 between 100 and 150 million payday advance Low fees . Sources familiar with the matter speak for a recovery of about 70 million euros for Virgin 17 half high.

It remains to be seen whether the sale of Virgin 17 will be a good financial transaction knowing that the loss of the channels are estimated between 20 and 30 million euros for 2009.However, the Bollor? Group is a good move in expanding its presence on DTT now with two strings which can organize spending.

This is a first official estimate. Le Figaro had argued Wednesday the number of one billion euros in damage, according to the French Federation of Insurance Companies (FFSA), the Xynthia storm that swept through France last Sunday is expected to cost at least $ 1.2 billion of EUR insurers. Because this encryption is based on insurance claims 500,000 victims and will probably be revised upwards. Firstly because other people should still report damage in the coming days. Xynthia is indeed the most violent storm in the 1999, stronger than that Klaus had 740,000 victims last year in the Southwest. Secondly, many houses are still flooded making it difficult to make a definitive estimate of the damage.

The assessment takes into account the damage caused by wind and partly by water. These latter are partly supported by governments that have recognized the state of natural disaster one hour payday loan .

To find the total cost of damage from the storm, it would also add all those suffered by all the infrastructure (roads, bridges, dams). Borne by state and local governments and not covered by members of the FFSA and the Grouping of mutual insurance companies, they have not been integrated to 1.2 billion euros. The final cost of Klaus – 1.68 billion euros – was nearly three times the initial estimate.According to the FFSA, it will take one to two months in order to establish the final amount of the cost of the storm for its members.
